I am a Dad, first and foremost, and all else comes second. (Don't tell my wife!). With the exception of college and a few other things
, most of what I do is done for my kids and my family. I do have some of
my own hobbies and habits that I sometimes allow to get in the way...it is hard
to try to be a "selfless" parent and also have your own life and wants and needs. I don't think my kids would complain
too much!
Retired Army. Many, many years worth, (did I say MANY??) and would have stayed in for life had it not been for a
parachute accident (low-altitude entanglement). About 5 years
after the accident I woke up to find I needed serious hardware placed inside my back. 3 Surgeries
left me unable to remain in the military that I loved so much. That is just the way it is. I spent my life in the military, serving longer than most soldiers,
so I have no room to complain
My goal is to work with soldiers again
by finding a position with the VA...it will take time, as jobs that require my technical background do not come easy in the VA
B.S. in Computer Information Systems (MAR 07)
Some of the units I served with or in:
20th Special Forces Group, Airborne
2/505 Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82D Airborne
7th Special Forces Group, Airborne
1/508 Parachute Infantry Battallion, Airborne
2/525 Military Intel BN, Airborne
Headquarters and Headquarters Company, JRTC Operations Group
I am a Conservative, although I am not a Republican. I am a registered
Independent and will stick to my position that we all have a duty to vote our conscience, vote for what we believe is right, rather than vote along
party lines. It is our own fault that a myth exists, leading people to believe that unless they vote for
one of the 2 popular candidates, their vote will either be 'wasted' or will 'help' the opposition.
I am passionate about our military. I believe that we must always support our soldiers regardless
of any politics involved with their mission. This great nation would not exist were it not for soldiers
who perform their duties without question. If the mission must be questioned, then approach the politicians
and leave the soldiers themselves out of the argument.
We should strive to keep our objections to any mission from hurting the morale of the soldiers. We need not
speak out against their mission in a way that will get back to them and hurt them. It is uncalled for
and just plain unnecessary.
I am grateful most of all for my family, my wonderful wife and my children. Above all else I want to protect them, understand them, make sure they
feel loved... and raise my kids to care about others and to care about themselves...to appreciate life, respect all things, and
be helpful, not hurtful.
Yes, I know it sounds corny. I am corny...
